TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Approximately 183 distinguished foreign guests are attending Taiwan’s National Day celebration (Oct 10), according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA).
This includes 14 official delegations and 91 representatives of diplomatic missions in Taiwan, including their spouses, from both allied and non-diplomatic countries, the ministry said.
Divided by region, there are three delegations from the Asia-Pacific, five from Latin America and the Caribbean, and two each from North America and Europe, MOFA said. There is also a foreign press group and a delegation from the Central American Bank.
Among the official envoys from allied nations, six groups include state-level representatives. Notable guests include Tuvalu's Prime Minister Feleti Teo and his spouse, Belize's Deputy Prime Minister Cordel Hyde, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines' Deputy Prime Minister Montgomery Daniel.
Saint Lucia Senate President Alvina Reynolds and House Speaker Claudius J. Francis, Guatemala First Lady Lucrecia Peinado, and Palau Minister of State Gustav Aitaro are also in Taiwan.
MOFA thanked all the foreign guests for joining Taiwan's National Day celebrations, underscoring the strong bonds of friendship.
