TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — New Taipei’s Jixian Police Station helped a Haitian foreign exchange student recover his lost wallet which he had left aboard a local bus.
The 21-year-old student named “Simeon,” entered the police station at 5 p.m. on Tuesday (Oct. 1) shortly after realizing he left his wallet on a bus according to Luzhou Police Precinct's Facebook page. Frustrated by his inability to communicate in Chinese, he received little help from residents, leaving him no other choice but to ask for help from the nearest police station.
Upon entering the police station, he was helped by a police officer who spoke fluent English and immediately understood his problem. After just a few minutes, the police officer began collecting vital information that would help track the whereabouts of his missing wallet.

The police officer was quickly able to determine the bus route and the bus route operator. A phone call was then made to inquire if the wallet was turned in at the terminal bus station.
After boarding the bus and searching for the wallet, it was quickly recovered.
