TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Foxconn announced Tuesday (Oct. 8) it will build the world’s largest manufacturing facility for producing Nvidia’s GB200 superchip in Mexico.
At Foxconn’s Hon Hai Tech Day event, senior executive Benjamin Ting (丁肇邦) said the company is building the largest GB200 production facility on the planet, per Reuters. Ting said Foxconn will use Nvidia’s Omniverse to create and simulate AI modules, per CNA.
Nvidia Vice President of Robotics and Edge Computing Deepu Talla said AI technology can be brought into the physical world for simulation and training, modeling, and testing, which reduces costs, accelerates efficiency, and enhances safety.
Talla explained that AI infrastructure requires support from AI software and digital twin technology. By combining these two, Nvidia can bring AI applications from the physical world into the virtual world.
Talla added Foxconn itself has set up automated production lines and is laying out simulations and digitization in industrial AI.
To date, Foxconn has invested over US$500 million (NT$16.1 billion) in Chihuahua, Mexico. The company reported a Q3 revenue of NT$1.85 trillion.
