TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – Even though Typhoon Krathon has largely dissipated, four coastal districts in New Taipei will keep schools and offices closed on Saturday (Oct. 5) due to flooding.
Wanli, Jinshan, Shimen, and Sanzhi struggled with impassable roads, floods, landslides, and fallen trees Friday (Oct. 4). To ensure the safety of residents and to speed up relief work, the New Taipei City Government decided to close schools and offices on Saturday, per CNA.
The four districts are located on the coast between Tamsui and Keelung, which were hit by heavy rain Friday. A landslide buried 12 government vehicles near a garbage incinerator in the city.
The Central Personnel Administration provides regular updates on school and office closures on its website.
