TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwan’s Tourism Administration has appointed the former Miss Vietnam Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien as the country’s first Tourism Ambassador to Vietnam.
The Taiwan Tourism Administration and the Ho Chin Minh Department of Tourism jointly organized a promotional event on Wednesday (Oct. 2) to premiere the first video advertisement in Vietnamese featuring Ngyuen. As Miss Vietnam in 2021, Nguyen was the winner of the Miss Grand International and has since become a celebrity in Vietnam’s entertainment industry, reported RTI.
With the beauty queen’s help, Taiwan hopes to boost the number of Vietnamese visitors going to Taiwan to 500,000 in 2025. In cooperation with Vietnamese travel agencies, the Tourism Administration has also launched a series of “buy three, get one free” Taiwan tour packages, per RTI.
Ngyuen was recently in Taiwan where she made a 21-minute video on her first experience visiting the country, which she shared with her 550,000 fans on YouTube. Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien's video in Vietnamese promoting tourism to Taiwan can be viewed below.
Taiwan recently unveiled its new brand image and motto, “Waves of Wonder” and is on a global push to increase tourism in Taiwan. In August, the Tourism Administration appointed Malaysian singer Nabila Razali as Taiwan's Tourism Ambassador to Malaysia.
