TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Photos on Thursday (Oct. 3) show flooding in the area around the Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts brought by Typhoon Krathon.
Krathon made landfall in Kaohsiung's Siaogang District at 12:40 p.m. (Thursday), making it the first typhoon in history to strike the city in October, per CNA. Residents near the Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts in Gushan District soon started posting photos of flooding on the streets.
Located near Meishu North 3rd Road and Makadao Road, the area around Meishu North 3rd Road, Jiurusi Road, Fengjia Road, Gushan Road and Fengjia Road is known to locals as the "Museum of Fine Arts Luxury Residential Area." It was inundated with water Thursday.
This marks the second time the high-end residential neighborhood has experienced flooding this year, following Typhoon Gaemi.

On Thursday afternoon, the Kaohsiung City Government Water Resources Bureau reported that Gushan District received rainfall of 157.5 mm over three hours, reported UDN. The three-day cummulative rainfall in Gushan District from Tuesday the Thurday (Oct. 1-3) reached 408.5 mm, according to China Times.
A row of parked scooters was reportedly submerged in the floodwaters, causing extensive damage to the vehicles, per TVBS. However, there were no reports of injuries or people becoming trapped in the floodwaters in Gushan District.
