TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — A Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) delegation showcased the country’s food machinery and delicacies this week at Expoalimentaria in Lima, Peru.
Sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the delegation attracted nearly 100 businesses on the food show’s first day on Wednesday (Sept. 25), per CNA. The Taiwan pavilion offered snack samples from 15 companies, including Mr. Brown Coffee and I-Mei Foods, as well as authentic bubble tea.
Chang Shen Machinery CEO Chen Wei-jui (陳暐叡), leader of the delegation for the second consecutive year, said marketing to the South American market requires patience and success cannot be achieved overnight, per Trade Insight. The company showcased its beverage and liquid-filling equipment.
Possmei, a Taiwanese company targeting the US market, participated in the expo for the first time. The beverage company attracted attendees with its brown sugar milk teas and drink flavors.
TAITRA official Wen Ching-yu (溫靖榆) praised the vibrancy of the Peruvian market and said Taiwan is committed to exploring opportunities with Peru.
Expoalimentaria will be held from Sept. 25-27. More information can be found here.
