TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — A FamilyMart customer who spent NT$35 (US$1.11) on cookies won the NT$10 million (US$313,000) Special Prize in the latest edition of the Taiwan receipt lottery.
On Wednesday (Sept. 25), the Ministry of Finance (MOF) reported the winning numbers for the July-August round of the lottery. The winning number for the Special Prize was 38039158, the winning number for the NT$2 million Grand Prize was 08276859, and the three winning numbers for the First Prize were 32110911, 84289408, and 13446901.
Ten FamilyMart customers have won top prizes in the latest draw of the receipt lottery, with seven spending less than NT$100. The lucky winner who spent the least and won the most was a customer who bought Oreo cookies at the Jinnantun store on Nantun Road in Taichung's Nantun District, per UDN.
The NT$2 million Grand Prize was won by a customer who used the FamilyMart app's cross-store pickup service to purchase vanilla custard puffs for NT$57.
Six customers won the NT$200,000 First Prize at stores in Taipei, New Taipei, Taichung, and Tainan. This includes FamilyMart’s Zhonghe Pingxing store in New Taipei's Zhonghe District, Xindian Xinfeng store in New Taipei's Xindian District, Yongxin Store in Taipei's Shilin District, Jin Nanmen store in Taichung's South District, Xinchongyi store in Tainan's East District, and Yongkang Dazhan store in Tainan's Yongkang District.
The smallest amount spent was NT$39 on Koikeya Corn Soup Potato Chips.
In addition, to encourage the use of e-invoice carriers, the Ministry of Finance offered an exclusive NT$1 million prize for cloud-based receipts. FamilyMart awarded two of these, at the Shui'an branch in Taichung's West District and the Zhunan Xinqun Lian branch in Miaoli County's Zhunan Township.
Both winners used eco-friendly cups to purchase Let’s Cafe coffee, spending just NT$72 to win NT$1 million.
