TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – Taiwan’s “king of Mandopop,” Jay Chou (周杰倫), will perform for four consecutive nights at the Taipei Dome in early December, reports said Tuesday (Sept. 24).
Chou, 45, was revealed earlier this month as the first artist allowed to give a full concert at the 40,000-seat arena following the approval of a fire safety review. Four consecutive evenings Dec. 5-8 have been scheduled for the concerts, per CNA.
Tickets priced from NT$1,880 (US$58) to NT$6,880 will go on sale from Oct. 23 at noon on tixCraft, according to Chou’s music label, JVR Music. Due to the different nature of the concert location, organizers paid repeated visits to Taipei Dome and discussed changes to the concert, driving the cost to NT$200 million.
The concerts have been billed as part of Chou’s “Carnival” World Tour, which was interrupted during the COVID-19 pandemic. Before he takes the stage in early December, singer Jody Chiang (江蕙) will also perform at the Taipei Dome, but as part of the National Day Gala scheduled for Oct. 5, her first public performance since she retired from show business nine years ago.
