TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwan is expected to see rain on Saturday (Sept. 21) due to a tropical depression and a low-pressure system, the Central Weather Administration (CWA) said.
High temperatures will be around 32 to 33 C, per CNA. Showers or thunderstorms are expected in northern, southern, and southeastern Taiwan, and Penghu, with the possibility of heavy rainfall. Other areas will be mostly sunny but humid.
Coastal areas along Keelung’s North Coast, southwestern and eastern Taiwan, Orchid Island, Green Island, Penghu, and Matsu Islands could experience strong waves. The CWA advised those engaging in coastal activities to stay cautious.
A tropical depression is currently located east of Taiwan and is moving toward the country, according to CWA data. While the chance of it becoming a typhoon is low, the CWA is closely monitoring its development.
