TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – Australian pop diva Kylie Minogue is the latest star to announce she is planning a concert in Kaohsiung, reports said Friday (Sept. 20).
Kaohsiung will host her only Taiwan performance on her Tension world tour on March 15, 2025. Minogue has sold 80 million records and was named by Time magazine as one of the 100 most influential people of the year, Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chi-mai (陳其邁) wrote on Facebook.
Minogue, 56, started as an actress in the Australian soap opera “Neighbours” before turning to pop music. She reached the peak of her popularity in 2001 with the dance hit “Can’t Get You Out Of My Head,” selling 5 million copies worldwide. The song “Padam, Padam” from the album “Tension” marked her return to the charts last year.

Kaohsiung has been building up its reputation as a home to superstar concerts by hosting Ed Sheeran, Super Junior, Coldplay, and Blackpink.
Bruno Mars gave two concerts in Kaohsiung earlier this month, with Thai K-pop star Lisa of Blackpink, British boy band Take That, and US singer-songwriter Charlie Puth scheduled for later in the year.
