TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Adidas Originals transformed its Taiwan Xinyi Brand Center into a retro playground with installations on Thursday (Sept. 5).
The idea was to mark the brand's new milestone in retro street style and its T-TOE family of iconic sneakers.
The “Night of Retro” neon visuals were designed by artist Lee Yung-Chih (李勇志). The nation's iconic street signs were recreated as retro installations within the store.
There are also interactive installations at Xinyi Vieshow Cinemas Plaza, from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday (Sept. 6) to Sunday (Sept. 8). They include the famous Taiwanese ring toss and electronic roulette games.
The event is a collaboration with Taiwan’s Chan Chi Hot Pots Lab and Taihu Brewing. Taiwanese singer 9m88 and singer/rapper Kao Erh-hsuan (高爾宣, OSN) were invited to perform on Thursday.
Retro Photo Booth Area
This area showcases the brand's iconic footwear, including T-TOE family's Samba and the latest SL72. It also features the brand-new laced Taekwondo series.
A retro photo booth is available for limited-time gifts with purchases from Friday to Sunday. With a single purchase of NT$3,800 (US$119) or more at the store, including either a T-TOE or Taekwondo shoe, customers can receive a custom-made tote bag and a free photo booth session.
Retro Taiwan Games Zone
Adidas Originals has teamed up with local brewery Taihu Brewing to create a unique retro ring toss game. The game combines Taihu beer bottles with SL72 sneakers.
A Taiwanese hotpot installation was created in collaboration with Taiwan's Chan Chi Hot Pots Lab. It combines Adidas Originals' original floral patterns with LED neon lights to create a vibrant hotpot scene.
