TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwanese-American basketball star Jeremy Lin (林書豪) confirmed on Monday (Sept. 2) that he will play for the New Taipei Kings in the 2024-25 season alongside his younger brother, Joseph Lin (林書緯).
Lin signed a 1+1 contract with the New Taipei Kings in 2023, with the second year being optional for an extension. He announced his decision on Instagram, expressing his excitement to re-sign with the team for the Taiwan Professional Basketball League’s (TPBL) inaugural season.
Lin also shared his gratitude for his health. The former NBA star suffered a concussion in May last year during the P. League+ playoffs.
In his first season with the Kings, Lin averaged 19.3 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.4 assists. The team won the 2023-2024 P.LEAGUE+ (PLG) championship title in June.
Lin added on Instagram, “They say it is not easy to climb to the top, but it is even more difficult to stay there. Defending the championship will not be easy, but we’re excited for the challenge.”
