TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – Top National Security Council (NSC) official Joseph Wu (吳釗燮) and Cabinet Secretary-General Kung Ming-hsin (龔明鑫) introduced Taiwan and its semiconductor sector at the annual Global Security forum in the Czech Republic Friday (Aug. 30).
Wu is scheduled to present a speech about regional security issues, but at an earlier news conference he and Kung emphasized cooperation in the semiconductor supply chain, per Radio Taiwan International. Other speakers at the forum included European Union leader Ursula von der Leyen and Czech President Petr Pavel.
In addition to shared values and security concerns, Wu said Taiwan also regarded the Central European nation as a key partner in the technology sector. The NSC secretary-general said Taiwan wanted to introduce the semiconductor supply chain into the Czech Republic, train relevant staff, and share its experience with science parks.
Results of the cooperation could be expected to show within three to five years, according to Wu. Taiwan sees the semiconductor industry as a vehicle to share benefits with the global community, he added.
