TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Chiayi’s Dongshih Summer Festival fireworks show is set for Saturday (Aug. 31) evening at the Dongshih Fisherman's Wharf, with a display larger than previous years, the Chiayi County Government announced Friday (Aug. 30).
The show will feature over 17,000 fireworks. The show will start at 9 p.m. and last 12 minutes, per CNA.
Safety measures will be in effect starting Saturday. Land access will be limited starting early morning, and sea access will be restricted after 6 p.m.
The fireworks will be launched from six platforms at sea. The viewing area provides spectators with a kilometer-long panoramic view.
Visitors should note that the event site is close to a fishing port. Camera tripods are not allowed, to avoid interfering with fishers and to maintain fishing area safety.
Spectators are reminded to stay within designated viewing areas and avoid entering restricted zones. Organizers warned people not to get too close to the water's edge to avoid accidents.
Due to the large scale of the fireworks, people are advised to refrain from bringing their pets to the event to prevent them from being startled by the loud noises. Free shuttle buses will be available, and the public is encouraged to utilize them.
