TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The action movie "Weekend in Taipei," shot entirely in Taiwan, will hold a red carpet meet-and-greet on Sunday (Sept. 1) before its Sept. 25 premiere.
Director George Huang (黃嘉智) and lead actors Gwei Lun-mei (桂綸鎂), Sung Kang, and Wyatt Yang (楊明偉) will attend the event, which will be held at the Taipei Xinyi Vieshow Cinemas plaza at 5 p.m. It was confirmed Friday (Aug. 30) that the event would also feature Luc Besson, the film's screenwriter and producer, and his wife Virginie Besson-Silla.
This is the only opportunity for fans to meet the cast and crew during their visit to Taiwan. There will also be special gifts for attendees.

"Weekend in Taipei" showcases the breathtaking beauty of Taiwan and is set to captivate audiences worldwide. Its plot centers around John Lawlor, played by Luke Evans.
John is a dedicated American DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) agent with an unwavering work ethic and relentlessly pursues justice. He finds himself unexpectedly drawn to Joey Kwang, played by Gwei, a brilliant and elusive top-tier "transporter."
A criminal conspiracy forces them to go their separate ways. Fifteen years later, John returns to Taipei intending to arrest drug lord Kwang, played by Sung Kang.
John had planned a brief weekend trip to Taipei but was unexpectedly reunited with Joey and discovered she now has a son named Raymond, played by Yang. As Kwan's threats intensify in the movie, the trio is forced to join forces.
