TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The Taiwan Tourism Administration (TTA) has partnered with Malaysian celebrity Nabila Razali to promote Taiwan as a tourist destination for Malaysians and Muslim travelers throughout the world.
Razali was recently named the Malaysian Muslim Tourism Ambassador for Taiwan by the TTA, reported EIN Newswire. The singer also made two visits to Taiwan this summer, where she recorded a promotional video called “Jom Taiwan,” which is Malay for “Come to Taiwan.”
According to Deputy Director-General of the Tourism Administration Chou Ting-chang (周廷彰), the country hopes to leverage Razali’s star power and her millions of online followers. The administration aims to highlight Taiwan as a friendly and convenient destination for Muslim tourists, as a continuation of the “Salam Taiwan” campaign, which began in 2018.
At a press event in Taipei on Friday (Aug. 22), Chou emphasized the important cultural and economic connections between Malaysia and Taiwan, according to EIN Newswire. Chou said that over 200,000 Malaysian visitors came to Taiwan this year between January and May, which represents a 20% increase in the same period for 2023.
Coinciding with the release of the “Jom Taiwan” promotional video with Nabila Razali, the TTA has also released an online travel guide in Malay especially for Muslim travelers from Malaysia called “72 Days in Taiwan.”
