TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The Taiwan organizers of Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign's listening event on Thursday (Aug. 22) confirmed the event was canceled due to “unforeseen circumstances.”
On Wednesday (Aug. 21), reports said tour organizers had canceled the Taiwan event. Early Thursday morning, JSM Cultural Creative Entertainment released a statement confirming the cancellation, per NowNews.
The statement read: “The Taiwan stop of the Asia stadium tour of the Vultures Listening Experience has been canceled due to unforeseen circumstances that prevent us from continuing to fulfill our contractual obligations. We sincerely apologize to the fans.”
It added that fans who purchased tickets through KKTIX can contact the ticket vendor for refund inquiries starting Thursday. However, fans have noted that the KKTIX website has not yet posted a cancellation notice or provided information regarding refund procedures.
Kanye's PR team also posted on the X account Ye Fanatics saying, “Neither Ye nor his team are involved in this cancellation.” It emphasized the South Korea show for Friday (Aug. 23) will still proceed as planned and advised fans to “Stay tuned for any further updates.”
On July 30, JSM Cultural Creative Entertainment announced Kanye and Ty Dolla Sign would bring their “Vultures Listening Experience” tour to Taoyuan Arena. On Aug. 1, when tickets for the Taiwan show went on sale, the 33,000 tickets sold out in just five minutes.
