TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Former U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Nikki Haley landed in Taiwan on Tuesday (Aug. 20) to attend a security forum in Taipei.
The X page Team Nikki Haley announced that she had arrived in Taiwan to attend the Ketagalan Forum where she will deliver the keynote speech on Wednesday. In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) listed Haley among the dignitaries scheduled to speak at the event, which will take place at the Grand Hyatt Taipei from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
MOFA and the Prospect Foundation are hosting the eighth edition of the Ketagalan Forum — 2024 Indo-Pacific Security Dialogue. The event will be attended by 15 politicians, lawmakers, and academics from 11 countries including the US, Canada, Japan, Australia, India, Israel, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, and Denmark.
President Lai Ching-te (賴清德) will deliver a speech at the forum's opening ceremony, followed by an opening keynote speech by former Japanese Prime Minister Noda Yoshihiko. Former Slovakian Prime Minister Eduard Heger will provide the mid-day keynote speech, while Haley will be the keynote speaker in the afternoon.
