TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Google will sell its next-generation Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro XL in Taiwan starting Aug. 22.
The company’s new foldable Pixel 9 Pro Fold will arrive later on Sept. 4, per CNA.
Google Vice President of Hardware Peng Yu-chun (彭昱鈞) said this year’s Pixel 9 series has a new design and camera array, and is twice as durable as the previous generation Pixel 8 series. For the first time this year, Pro models are launched in two sizes, namely the Pixel 9 Pro with a 6.3-inch screen and the Pixel 9 Pro XL with a 6.8-inch screen, he explained.
The company said to allow more users to experience AI features, Google announced that purchasers of the Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold will receive a one-year free subscription to Google One AI advanced plan. This includes early access to new AI voice chat feature, Gemini Live, and 2 TB of cloud storage.
Jam-packed with AI tricks, Pixel 9 series also offers more camera features, such as the new “Group Shot” feature, which uses AI to stitch together two photos with the same background and angle, per UDN.
Pixel 9 will be available in four colors: Peony (pink), Wintergreen, Porcelain, and Obsidian and start at NT$26,490 (US$820). Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL will start at NT$33,490 and NT$39,990 while Pixel 9 Pro Fold will start at NT$56,990.
