TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The Ministry of National Defense (MND) on Thursday (Aug. 15) released a video that included footage of a new suicide drone in development attacking targets on land and at sea.
The seven-minute video shows live-fire testing of missiles and rockets in Pingtung County's Manzhou Township, in April. The final segment of the video shows a first-person view (FPV) drone being modified by soldiers and tested as a loitering munition.
The narrator can be heard saying the military has a “forward-looking perspective on future combat scenarios and emerging trends in warfare.”

The voiceover adds, "Through combat readiness training missions, these drones undergo real-world testing, demonstrating their excellent capabilities and the results of training.”
At the training range, troops can be seen using a tablet to launch a quadcopter drone carrying an explosive payload. A soldier wearing FPV drone goggles is seen operating the quadcopter with a game controller.

The drone can then be seen colliding with a car, which explodes upon contact. Similarly, another drone is filmed slamming into the back of a boat, which instantly bursts into flames.
Footage from the final moments before impact from the drone and a second camera is shown.
