TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — A Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) delegation hosted a green energy seminar at the innovation hub Cubo Itau in Sao Paulo, Brazil on Thursday (Aug. 8).
As part of Taiwan’s “Go Green with Taiwan” initiative, attendees discussed the state of sustainable development and the impact of climate change, per CNA. The event highlighted Taiwan’s progress in energy and storage, low-carbon transportation, and the circular economy.
The seminar featured speakers including Innovation Studio Director Marivaldo Albuquerque and Ekos Brasil Project Director Rubens Ferreira.
Attendees discussed topics such as carbon trading in Brazil and transparency in green finance. They shared ideas and experiences to find applicable green solutions for Brazil and Taiwan.
Taiwan Trade Center of Brazil official Shih I-lun (施懿倫) said Taiwan and Brazil could learn much from each other. In recent years, both countries have shown a strong commitment to sustainable development, she added.
