TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf will hold activities coinciding with Chinese Valentine's Day, traditionally held on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month, which this year is Saturday (August 10).
The highlight will be a fireworks show on Sunday (August 11), paired with a laser light and water show set to music along an outdoor market. The New Taipei City Government hopes the outdoor event will create a romantic atmosphere for couples.
The show will begin with a drone show at 7:50 p.m., followed by fireworks on the Tamsui River at 8:00 p.m. Tamsui’s boardwalk will be decorated with lights, creating a romantic nighttime atmosphere, per a New Taipei City Government press release.
This year’s theme is “Love in Tamsui." For those unable to catch the fireworks, a five-minute laser light and water show will occur daily every half hour from 7-9 p.m. until September 8.
The mid-summer fireworks show has become an annual tradition in New Taipei City, typically held at Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf. People in nearby Bali and Tamsui Riverside Park can see clear views of the show.
New Taipei City reminded citizens to avoid traffic congestion by using public transportation. For more information, please visit the New Taipei City Government’s Cultural Affairs Department's Facebook page.
