TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — A woman in Tainan at risk of suffocation after a yoga strap got wrapped around her neck was saved when Apple's digital assistant Siri helped call the police on Thursday (Aug. 1).
The 34-year-old surnamed Shih (石) was alone practicing using an aerial yoga strap when it got twisted around her neck, per UDN. Her whole body was suspended in mid-air, and she was unable to move or breathe.
However, she saw her phone and managed to say, “Siri, call the police." Three minutes later, officers from Tainan City Police Department 2nd Precinct arrived, forced the door open, and cut the yoga belt that was twisted around the woman’s neck.
The officers reported that the individual was struggling and crying out in pain. Ambulance personnel initially assessed that the injuries were not life-threatening, and Shih thanked the police for their assistance.
