TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwan Railway suspended services on Wednesday afternoon (July 24) after Typhoon Gaemi touched land in the early morning, per CNA.
The following transportation services have been affected. Please note this information is subject to change.
Taiwan Railway
All trains are suspended on Wednesday from noon to midnight.
Taiwan High-Speed Rail (THSR)
Starting at noon on Wednesday, three non-reserved seat trains will run in both directions, stopping at each station every hour, per ET Today. The operating schedule for Thursday (July 25) will be announced at 9 p.m.
Taipei MRT
The travel time on routes will be adjusted, and the elevated route sections will be suspended based on traffic and wind speed.
Trains on the Wenhu Line, Tamsui Xinyi Line, Songshan Xindian Line, Bannan Line, and Zhonghe Xinlu Line will operate at 15-minute intervals. The overlapping sections such as Nanshijiao Station and Daqiaotou Station are about 7.5 minutes.
New Taipei MRT
The Ankeng and Danhai Light Rails will operate every 30 minutes. The overlapping section of the Danhai Light Rail and the Circular Line will operate every 15 minutes.
Taoyuan MRT
Direct and overtime trains are canceled on Wednesday. Regular trains will operate every 15 minutes.
Taichung MRT
The Green Line will operate every 15 minutes.
Kaohsiung MRT
Trains on all light rail lines will run every 15 minutes.
YouBike
All YouBike stations in Taipei and New Taipei will be suspended until further notice.
Flights
Per the Civil Aviation Administration, 201 international and cross-strait flights and 261 domestic flights were canceled, and 14 flights were delayed, as of 10 a.m. on Wednesday.
