TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Malaysian and Indonesian trade delegations visited I-Mei’s food factory in Longtan, Taoyuan on Monday (July 22).
The Malaysian delegation consisted of Malaysian Friendship and Trade Centre President Aznifah Isnariah Binti Abdul Ghani, Director of Investment Azhana Mohamed Saleh, and Director of Trade Aninawati Saleh.
The Indonesian delegation included Indonesian Economic and Trade Office to Taipei (IETO) Industry Department Director Rifiqi Ansari, Investment Department Director Eko Wijanarko, Investment Department Vice Director Herdi Arman Putra, and Industry Department staff member Yoseph Ma.
The representatives visited I-Mei’s wind tunnel, where a company spokesperson explained that the tunnel serves as a site to test the structural endurance of drones. They also visited I-Mei’s ice cooling silos which the company uses to save energy.
The delegation then inspected I-Mei’s oil press and freeze-dry systems. Several representatives also took the chance to take a company drone on a test run.
After the tour, Ghani said while Taiwan has made progress in establishing prayer rooms, it could also consider expanding into the Halal food market. Putra echoed her statements and said that Indonesia is eager to help companies expand into Indonesia’s Halal market.
Director of Bramen Co. Brian Ko (高宏豪) said that the Halal market is a large one and I-Mei can consider entering it. He thanked the delegation for their time and welcomed them to visit again.
