TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) reported Friday (July 19) a single-day passenger traffic record of 147,155 on June 30, the first weekend of the summer vacation, exceeding pre-pandemic levels.
TPE surpassed the 20 million passenger mark for 2024 on June 14. The airport anticipates handling 8 million passengers during the summer, per CNA.
Officials are urging travelers to arrive three hours before their flights. This will allow for ample check-in and security processing times.
To expedite the check-in process, TPE recommends passengers utilize mobile apps, online check-in options, or the A1 and A3 Airport MRT lines for advance check-in. Self-service baggage kiosks are also available.
TPE offers 30 minutes of free parking for those driving or picking up passengers. Real-time parking availability information can be accessed through the airport's website or app.
Taxis operate 24/7 and accept cash, credit cards, and electronic payment methods like LINE Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, TaiwanPay, and Jiekou payments. Notably, 80% of international travelers utilize cashless payment methods.
TPE caters to passengers with special needs. Female passengers can request rides from female drivers, especially for nighttime travel. The baby car fleet provides car seats for infants, and pet-friendly transportation options are available for passengers traveling with animals.
