TAIPEI (Taiwan News)—The Administration of Commerce, under the Ministry of Economic Affairs, organized a showcase for Taiwanese companies in Thailand in the hope that Taiwanese franchises would find success in the country.
The 2024 Thailand Franchise and Business Opportunities expo is being held in Bangkok from July 11 to July 14. This year, the MOEA organized a delegation with representatives of 10 Taiwanese franchises to participate at the expo’s Taiwan pavilion in hopes of facilitating greater business opportunities, per the MOEA press release.
On Thursday (July 11), a special “Taiwan-Thailand Franchise Biz Matchmaking” event was held to introduce the brands to potential agents, distributors, and ingredient suppliers in the local market.
Companies participating in the event include drink shops such as Kung Fu Tea, Like Tea Shop, Mr. Sun Handcrafted Boba Shop, Chosen Tea, and Nuttea. Other companies participating include food brands Jhu Jian Hot Pot, Mister Wheel, More Warm Cake, Moon Met Mountain Shawarma, and Chyuan Fa Honey.
According to the MOEA, business opportunities for foreign franchises in Thailand are rapidly increasing as Thailand’s tourism industry continues to expand and local living standards increase. Over a single year, from 2022 to 2023, Thailand’s franchise market grew by 10% to reach an estimated value of US$9 billion (NT$292.5 billion), per the press release.
