TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA) is promoting the country’s comics in Bangkok amid growing demand for therapeutic cultural items, reports said Friday (July 5).
The aim of an exhibition in the Thai capital was to persuade businesses in Thailand’s cultural and publishing sector to distribute and promote intellectual property from Taiwan, per CNA. A year after a similar event, about 100 Thais attended Friday’s expo, including publishers Amarin Publishing, Se-Education Public, and Nanmeebooks.
TAICCA exhibited 26 illustrated books and comics with therapeutic value. Thai translations could be found online, while the site also featured other products related to the intellectual property.
A separate expo was open to the public at the Samyan Mitrtown department store until July 14. According to TAICCA, Thais were mostly interested in cuddly characters like cats and rabbits to relieve the pressure of modern urban living.
