TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Three Chinese warships were sighted off the cape of Yilan County's Wushibi on Friday and Saturday (June 14-15).
At 3:20 p.m. on Friday, Taiwanese aircraft spotter Taiwan ADIZ detected a suspected People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) electronic surveillance ship about 66 km (36 NM) southeast of Wushibi sailing southward, reported Liberty Times.
A Tuo Chiang-class corvette from the Navy and a Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force naval vessel were nearby and the Chinese ship did not enter the 44-kilometer (24 NM) contiguous zone.

On Saturday morning, the Taiwan ADIZ team sighted a PLAN Type 052D destroyer, the Chengdu (hull number 120), and a Type 056A corvette, the Nanyang (hull number 619), in the waters 61 km (33 NM) east of Wushibi.
The Taiwan Navy Kang Ding-class frigate, the Di Hua (PFG-1206), was seen monitoring the Chinese naval vessels and surrounding waters.
