TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — A three-story residence in Taoyuan’s Longtan District on Zhongxing Road caught fire early Monday morning (June 10).
Fifty-one firefighters and 20 firetrucks and ambulances were dispatched to the scene, per UDN. The first-floor tenants were not at home.
Firefighters had to guide four tenants from the second floor and four on the third floor to safety. The fire was extinguished at 12:50 a.m.
Eight people suffered minor smoke-related injuries and were later sent to a nearby hospital for treatment. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
