TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — A surge in Nvidia's stock value has propelled its CEO Jensen Huang's (黃仁勳) net worth to make him one of the world's richest people.
Nvidia's stock price has hit a new all-time high, closing at US$1,164.37 (NT$37,677.42) on Tuesday (June 4), with its market value rising to US$2.86 trillion, positioning it to challenge Apple for the second-highest market capitalization in the world, per CNA.
Huang's net worth has as a consequence surged to US$102 billion (NT$3.3 trillion) making him the 13th richest person globally, per the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
Huang's visit to Taiwan to deliver a keynote speech caused a stir and his schedule has been packed over the past few days, including visits to partners like Quanta Cloud Technology and Foxconn at the Computex Taipei exhibition. He also made appearances to support the keynote speeches of MediaTek CEO Rick Tsai (蔡力行) and Supermicro President and CEO Charles Liang (梁見後), further fueling the “AI craze.”
Nvidia's stock has shown strong performance, closing at US$1,164.37 on Tuesday (June 4), a new high, up US$14.37. According to Companies Market Cap, NVIDIA's market value has reached US$2.86 trillion, ranking it third globally, behind Apple's US$2.98 trillion and Microsoft's US$3.09 trillion.
