TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwan’s EVA Air will buy another four U.S.-made Boeing 787-10 planes, according to multiple reports on Thursday (May 16).
The order is said to have been confirmed on May 10 in a regulatory filing, according to the online airline knowledge base CH-aviation.
The four aircraft ordered this week are expected to be delivered in 2029, though Boeing has a backlog of 170 planes and this could lead to delays.
EVA already has 11 of the Boeing models and reportedly has another two already ordered, which will in the near-term see a fleet of 17 787-10s.
A company spokesperson was quoted as saying: "EVA Air is aiming to steadily increase its operation capacity and renew its fleets, in order to maintain market competitiveness.
“Currently, 44 passenger aircraft have been ordered and will be delivered gradually, including two B787-10s, nine B787-9s, 18 A350-1000s, and 15 A321-200N,” the spokesperson added.
