TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – Taiwan Expo brought together 130 Taiwanese businesses to present the country’s smart healthcare and green economy to visitors in the Indonesian capital Jakarta on Thursday (May 16).
Due to COVID-19, the event has not taken place for the past five years, per CNA. Up to 90% of the exhibitors at the event organized by the Ministry of Economic Affairs International Trade Administration and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) were new.
As the government of Indonesia is promoting cuts in carbon emissions and the development of electric vehicles, Taiwan companies are interested in joint ventures, said TAITRA Chair James Huang (黃志芳). He named Delta Electronics Inc. as an example, having installed 2,000 charging stations in the Southeast Asian country.
Five hospitals shared the smart healthcare section with manufacturers of innovative equipment and machinery, the organizers said. Energy management platforms, robot arms, industrial computers, and precision machinery were featured in other sections of the expo, according to TAITRA.
