TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwanese electric scooter maker and battery swapping infrastructure provider Gogoro and Nebula Energy launched in Nepal last week.
The two companies made the announcement at a media event in Kathmandu, where the first battery swapping station (GoStation) is located. Nebula is an authorized and exclusive partner of Gogoro.
During the initial rollout, Gogoro battery swapping will be available to business-to-business (B2B) customers in the Kathmandu Valley, where Nebula plans to set up GoStations every two to three kilometers.
Nebula will offer Gogoro Smartscooters at consumer retail locations later in 2024. Gogoro’s entrance into Nepal is an extension of its India push and will utilize Gogoro’s new CrossOver GX250 Smartscooter, which is manufactured in Maharashtra, India.
“Gogoro and Nebula Energy share a vision for accelerating the electric transformation of Nepal’s two-wheel transportation industry. Gogoro battery swapping is optimized to provide convenient swap and go access to Gogoro smart batteries in seconds,” said Horace Luke (陸學森), founder and CEO of Gogoro.
The “new Gogoro CrossOver GX250 is optimized for riders in Nepal with more seating and storage space and better ground clearance,” Luke added.
Gogoro also began shipping its new Jego electric scooter in Taiwan last week. The company said Jego sales have shown the strongest demand for a Gogoro vehicle since the beginning of the pandemic.
