TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Two weather fronts will bring rain to Taiwan this week, per the Central Weather Administration (CWA).
The first front is predicted to arrive on Tuesday morning (April 23), bringing rain across the country, with western regions experiencing localized heavy rainfall, reported ETtoday. The second front will arrive on Friday (April 26), with greater rainfall predicted in the west and Yilan, with flash floods possible.
CWA forecaster Lee Meng-hsuan (李孟軒) said to be aware of stronger rainfall on Monday afternoon. On Tuesday, the front will reach northern Taiwan, with heavy rainfall in the western regions.
On Wednesday (April 24), as more rain passes through, temperatures will drop in the north. On Thursday (April 25), another front will form from the northern waters of Taiwan to the southern region of China.
The second front will impact Taiwan until Sunday (April 28), bringing prolonged rainfall. In the west, precipitation could exceed 80 to 100 millimeters and sudden downpours may cause flooding, Lee warned.
