TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – Taiwan’s largest 7-Eleven opened its doors to the public Saturday (April 20) at a new shopping center in Tainan City.
The convenience store occupies almost 660 square meters out of 5,000 square meters at the Par K* Avenue complex in Yongkang District. The center includes Cosmed and Starbucks stores, brands also run by the 7-Eleven-owned Uni-President Group.
More than half the products at the new convenience store had not been sold at 7-Eleven outlets before, per CNA. The 7-Eleven Fresh shop includes special cheese and international chocolate sections, with fresh meats and meals prepared by five-star hotels.
The chair of Uni-President Group’s beauty businesses, Kao Shiu-ling (高秀玲), said at the opening in Tainan that she wanted to create the largest Starbucks cafe in the world at the “Dream Plaza,” a mall the group wants to develop at the former Eslite Xinyi bookstore in Taipei City, CNA reported. The Starbucks outlet would occupy 2,000 square meters on the sixth floor of the building, and include an outside seating area on the rooftop, she said.
