TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — A Vietnamese worker died in an apparent accident at a construction site in New Taipei’s Sanchong District on Saturday (April 13) morning.
A worker in his 40s fell from the 21st floor to the basement level of a building that is under construction on Lane 27 off Wuguwang North Street in Sanchong. It was learned at the scene that he was a migrant laborer from Vietnam after first responders were unable to confirm his identity, reported UDN.
The fatal accident reportedly occurred at 10:38 a.m. The man showed no vital signs after the fall, but was still rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The man was hired to lay cement for the walls of the structure. It is suspected he was a laborer who had been reported missing by his previous employer.
Th death is being investigated and the worksite inspected for safety violations, per reports.
