TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwan Trade Mission to Latin America negotiated 314 sales with 115 Brazilian buyers at a trade fair on Monday (April 8).
The sales involved 26 Taiwanese suppliers and totaled nearly US$6 million (NT$193 million), per CNA.
The trade delegation arrived in Sao Paulo on Monday where they met with Brazilian companies at a trade fair hosted by Taiwan Trade Center of Brazil. Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Sao Paulo Director Feng Kuang-chung (馮光中) expressed gratitude for the delegation’s visit and emphasized the growing economic and trade cooperation between Taiwan and Brazil.
Brazilian Association of Industrial Machinery and Equipment Importers Chair Ennio Crispino welcomed the Taiwanese entrepreneurs, highlighting Taiwan’s reputation for advanced technology, electronics, and manufacturing. He said despite geographical and economic differences, Taiwan and Brazil are committed to economic development, cultural diversity, and democratic participation.
On Tuesday (April 9), the delegation visited the Sao Jose dos Campos Science and Technological Park to learn about hybrid vehicle technology and automated quality control.
Jointly organized by the International Trade Administration of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council, the delegation will visit countries in South America from April 6-22 to support Taiwanese businesses.
The trade delegation will continue to Paraguay on April 11, Argentina on April 15, and Chile on April 18.
