TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Northern Taiwan is expected to see rain and lows of 16 C on Monday (April 8), according to WeatherRisk meteorologist Lin Hsiao-ju (林孝儒).
Lin said northeasterly monsoon winds will weaken on Wednesday (April 10), leading to more stable weather dominated by a high-pressure system and easterly to southerly winds until Sunday (April 14), per UDN.
Wednesday highs in the north and east will reach 30-32 C and 32-36 C in central and southern areas.
Lin said from Wednesday to Sunday, there could be poor diffusion conditions with ozone concentration increasing and air quality deteriorating. Outdoor air quality could potentially reach unhealthy levels for sensitive groups.
The Central Weather Administration (CWA) reminded the public to avoid going into mountainous areas due to possible aftershocks from the 7.2 magnitude quake on April 3 and the high probability of rainfall. For those who do visit such places, the CWA encouraged the public to look out for soft soil, landslides, and falling rocks, per BCC.
