TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Starting April 1, ticket prices for Taipei Zoo will increase to NT$100 (US$3.12) for regular tickets, NT$50 for discounted tickets, and NT$70 for group tickets.
According to a press release by the Taipei Zoo on Wednesday (March 27), Taipei Zoo Director Chen Yi-tsung (諶亦聰) said that the Taipei City Council approved the price increase on Feb. 6, per Liberty Times. Originally, regular tickets cost NT$60, while discounted tickets cost NT$30.
Chen said that discounted tickets apply to children ages six to 11, students with valid student IDs from domestic schools, and members of civil defense, police reserves, etc. Taipei residents will continue to enjoy a ticket price of NT$60, and residents using EasyCards can enter using an electronic gate after presenting their ID, the director said.
Chen said group ticket prices have been revised to a fixed pricing model, meaning that groups of 30 or more people will be charged a flat rate of NT$70 per person (regardless of regular or discounted tickets). The previous method offered discounts based on the total group ticket purchase amount.
“It is recommended that groups planning to visit the zoo calculate which ticket purchase option is most suitable before their trip,” Chen said.
