TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — A new video that was secretly taken of 10 more guests at a hot spring resort in Taipei's Beitou District was released on Monday (March 25).
As police investigate multiple reports of customers at the Emperor Spa being secretly filmed, a new video was leaked on social media on Monday, reported UDN. That evening, a video appeared on Telegram that showed four men and six men bathing at the facility, including four couples and one pair of friends.
Prosecutors and police have yet to pinpoint the IP of the individual who uploaded the latest footage but vowed to continue their search and bring the perpetrator to justice.
The whole case came to light when a video of a man and woman bathing naked in a hot spring was posted online and uploaded to a Facebook group. The female victim filed a complaint with Taoyuan police on March 13, 2024.
She had recently broken up with her former boyfriend and was unaware of how the video, which showed their visit to the spa in January 2023, had been filmed and leaked. The case was transferred to Taipei City Police Department's Beitou Precinct.
A second couple was reportedly filmed in February 2023. In some of the videos, the footage was shot through gaps in bamboo screens surrounding the semi-open-air bathing areas.
Emperor Spa claims that last year, it installed metal mesh on the screens to prevent outsiders from secretly filming customers.
