TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – The National Culture and Arts Foundation (NCAF), the Taiwan-Asia Exchange Foundation (TAEF), and the Vietnam National Institute of Culture and Arts Studies (VICAS) on Thursday (April, 18) signed a trilateral memorandum of understanding to lay a foundation for cooperation among the three parties.

The MOU will embed the institutions in a five-year program that seeks to create a cultural and art community network between Taiwan and the Southeast Asian country, according to a press release from the NCAF.

As government-sponsored organizations party to the Asia Engagement Consortium, NCAF and TAEF are devoted to pushing for closer ties between Taiwan and New Southbound Policy countries in Southeast Asia and South Asia, as well as Australia, and New Zealand.

VICAS provides tertiary courses and programs in collaboration with a number of top international universities, in addition to its role as a policy advisor. It was established in 1971 in Hanoi under the auspices of Vietnam’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. 

The three organizations will promote cultural exchange between Taiwan and Vietnam through curated programs, artist-in-residence projects, and empowerment workshops.
