TAIPEI (Taiwan News) - Japanese e-commerce giant Rakuten signed an agreement with Taiwan’s PChome Online which will strengthen exchanges between their membership programs, reports said Thursday.
Members of both systems will be allowed to accumulate and exchange each other’s P-coins and Rakuten points, the Central News Agency reported.
Customers in Taiwan will be able to sell products on Rakuten in Japan through PChome’s C2C (consumer-to-consumer) platform, also getting into closer contact with popular fashions in Japan and benefiting from Japanese products being sent directly to Taiwan.
The two e-commerce companies will also exchange other products, including Rakuten’s Kobo e-book reader and PChome’s 24-hour delivery service, according to CNA.
Rakuten Asia CEO Hiroshi Takasawa (高澤廣志) described Taiwan as an important market, adding the accord would offer Taiwanese consumers more benefits and a more extensive choice in products.
