Bogota football coach quits after death threats

The newly hired Uruguayan coach of a Bogota football club has quit and left Colombia after receiving death threats.
Ruben Israel didn't get the chance to coach the Santa Fe club for even a single league game.
The club's president, Armando Farfan, said Israel flew to Uruguay on Monday after receiving two phone calls the previous day demanding he not bench defender Francisco Najera.
Israel coached Libertad of Paraguay for the 2007-08 season and was hired by Santa Fe a month ago.
Farfan told reporters that threats against coaches are not uncommon in Colombian football, but normally come after a team has lost a game.
