Weather forecast for the Asia-Pacific region

Weather forecast for the Asia-Pacific region

A complex area of low pressure will continue to support unsettling weather activity across much of eastern Asia on Tuesday. Moisture from the Sea of Japan and the Pacific will wrap around this system, bringing light to moderate showers to northeastern China and North Korea.
Meanwhile, a cold front associated with this system will produce a chain of active weather as it extends through Japan and into southeastern China. Isolated thunderstorms, gusty winds, and numerous bands of moderate to heavy rainfall are expected to develop along this front throughout the day. While most of the heavy precipitation events are expected to fall across the East China Sea and the Korea Strait, periods of torrential rainfall will soak areas near Nanchang and the Shanghai coast of China and Fukuoka, Japan.
For Australia, showery weather will persist along the southern coast as the Great Australia Bight remains engulfed by a broad area of low pressure. An associated cold front will sweep through western and southern Australia, instigating light showers across the southwest and along the Great Australian Bight coast. This front will travel eastward throughout the day, bringing light to moderate scattered showers to New South Wales and Victoria by Tuesday evening.
