Police say 61 miners found dead in South Africa

Police say the bodies of another 25 illegal miners have been brought up from an abandoned shaft where 36 others had been found dead over the weekend in central South Africa.
Police are calling on relatives to help identify the 61 victims who died searching for gold.
Authorities are investigating what might have caused the tragedy.
Police spokesman Stephen Thakeng suggested Tuesday the miners may have inhaled poisonous fumes. South African mining company Harmony Gold said an underground fire could have led to the deaths at the Eland shaft in central South Africa.
Harmony Gold established the shaft but ceased working it.
Harmony official Tom Smith says "huge money" is involved in illegal mining.
