Turkey: Ship runs aground in Bosporus strait

A maritime official says a St.-Vincent and Grenadines-flagged ship has run aground in Istanbul's Bosporus.
Salih Orakci, head of Turkey's coast security, says the 492-foot (150-meter) Ella J drifted in the Bosporus strait, which divides Istanbul, and ran aground off the coast of Yenikoy in clear weather on Thursday. Orakci said the ship apparently developed a technical problem. He says no one was injured in the accident.
Dogan news agency footage shows the tilted ship at a halt just meters away from old Istanbul mansions as rescue boats tried to tow it away. It says the ship was carrying logs from the Turkish island of Burgaz to the Istanbul port of Derince.
