Belgium asks Russia to clarify diplomats' status

The Belgian government says it has asked the Russian mission to NATO to clarify what it intends to do with two diplomats whose accreditations were withdrawn over an espionage case.
The two men who work in NATO's headquarters complex had their passes taken away last week.
Since they are no longer accredited to NATO, there is no reason for them to stay in Belgium, where the alliance is based, the ministry says.
Russia has complained bitterly about NATO's action and has promised quick retaliation.
