Zapatero says there is "reasonable hope" for Games

Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero believes Madrid has "reasonable hope" of landing the 2016 Olympic Games.
Zapatero met with the 13-member International Olympic Committee evaluation team on Tuesday looking to transmit the bid's attributes.
"I feel reasonable hope about our bid," Zapatero said. "We deserve the games."
Zapatero said Madrid's bid was strong due to unity at all governmental levels, because 77 percent of infrastructure was ready and due to the legacy of the 1992 Barcelona Games.
Zapatero also highlighted Spain's "golden age of sport," which left it as "the best in many sports, including football."
The IOC committee's visit to Madrid will continue through Friday after having already visited fellow bid cities Chicago, Tokyo and Rio de Janeiro.
